Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the organizing committee of '97 Kyushu-Seibu/Pusan-Kyeongnam Joint Symposium on High Polymers (8th) and Fibers (6th), we would like to ask you to participate to the symposium. The symposium is successive one held at Korea Institute of Footwear Technology, Pusan on Nov. 1995. Once in every two years, the symposium is held in Kyushu or Pusan-Kyeongnam era, therefore, this time, held at Kumamoto University in Kyushu.
The symposium is consisting of lecture and poster sessions. In the lecture session, eight outstanding Japanese and Korean scientists from high polymer and fiber branches are scheduled to give topics as included in this circular. Papers for poster presentation especially by young scientists and students are welcome. In order to encourage young scientists, several Poster prizes will be awarded for outstanding presentations from the organizing committee. The official language of the symposium is English.
Participants (also poster presenters) are requested to submit the registration form enclosed in this circular by July 31, 1997, and will receive the invitation to the symposium and the instruction of manuscript for symposium abstracts soon. The second circular including full program will be sent to applicants by the beginning of October. All participants are requested to send accommodation and events form, and either oral and poster presenters are requested to submit abstracts by September 15, 1997. Korean residents should send these forms to the Korean Secretary General; others to Japanese Secretary General.

1.5 hours bus drive from Kumamoto city will bring you to Mt. Aso, which is famous for the biggest caldera in the world. The panorama view from the top of the mountain fascinates you. Visiting Kumamoto Technopolis, which is located around the middle point between Kumamoto city and Mt. Aso, is also scheduled.
