From Kumamoto Airport
(1) Take Limousine Bus for Kumamoto Kotsu Center@(ŒF–{Œπ’ΚƒZƒ“ƒ^[j.
(2) Get off at Touricho-suzi i’Κ’¬‹Ψj bus stop. (40-50 min; ca. 600 yen from the airport).
(3) Take a taxi to go to Kurokami Campus, of Kumamoto University.
(4) Get off the taxi at Akamon (Red Gate) at Kurokami Campus.
(5) Cross the street to the southern campus, and find the eight-stories building on your frontright.

From JR Kumamoto Station
(1) Take a tram for Kengunkoumae (Œ’ŒRZ‘Oj.
(2) Get off the tram at Touricho-suzi i’Κ’¬‹Ψj stop.
(3) Take a taxi to go to Kurokami Campus, of Kumamoto University.
(4) Get off the taxi at Akamon (Red Gate) at Kurokami Campus.

Introduction of Kumamoto University
  Kumamoto University has been one of the key schools in Japan.After the Meiji revolution, our university was called the Fifth HigherNormal School (among the eight  "numbered" higher normalschools). It was established to educate young stars in Kyushu topromote them to higher education at the Imperial University(University of Tokyo, at present).
   Our Department of Parmaceutical Sciences originates from themedicinal school,Banji En i”ΧŽ ‰€j, for the Hosokawa clangoverned the Kumamoto area in the Edo period.
  Dr. Shibasaburo Kitasato, who discovered  the infectious agent ofbubonic plague, graduated from the Kumamoto Medicinal School(KMS), which is now Department of Medicine of KU. KMS wasoriginally founded for the medicinal school of the Hosokawa clanknown asSaisyun Kan (ΔtŠΩj.
  Jigoro Kano, a founder of Judo, was the president of the Fifth Higher Normal School. Soseki Natsume and Lafcadio Hearn taught English there.

  A famous physists and esseist, Torahiko Terada, learned at the  School. He was a professoratTokyo Imperial University, a researcher atRIKEN, and worked on a wide range of topics in physics. Also, he was a professor at theEarthquake Research Institute.
Hayato Ikeda and Eisaku Sato, the former prime ministers, graduated the school.
